A Premier Listening Experience

Turntables & Record Players

Superior Analog Sound

For some of our clients, listening to music is a primary activity, not something to put in the background as they do other things.

At EOC Audio we understand and appreciate high performance audio. For all those who want to sit back and soak in every analog note, we know the feeling.

EOC Audio offers the best turntables for the ultimate analog experience

EOC Audio offers turntables from entry level to extreme high end and we are happy to take a look at your old one before you choose a new one. Without the compression of streaming, vinyl offers a fuller sound with a higher dynamic range and a warmth that you can’t experience any other way.

EOC Audio’s Turntable Criteria

A good turntable is essential for achieving high-quality audio playback from your vinyl. There are several factors that differentiate one turntable from another.

What Makes a Turntable Great?

Audiophiles seeking the highest fidelity may have different requirements compared to casual listeners or DJs.

Of course connectivity and user friendly features are crucial. But ultimately, EOC Audio believes a great turntable strikes a balance between build quality and performance, as well as staying within your budget.

Build Quality

A good turntable should be well-constructed and sturdy. It should have a solid plinth (base), a well-balanced tonearm, and a quality motor system. The materials used, such as high-density composites or heavy metals, can help reduce vibrations and resonance that may interfere with sound quality.

Speed Stability

Accurate speed is crucial for proper playback of vinyl records. A good turntable should maintain stable rotational speeds of 33 1/3, 45, and sometimes 78 RPM (revolutions per minute). Precise speed control contributes to consistent and accurate playback.

Tonearm & Cartridge

The tonearm is responsible for holding the cartridge and maintaining the correct tracking force and alignment. It should be well-designed, lightweight yet rigid, and be adjustable for tracking force, anti-skating, and height. The cartridge, which houses the stylus that reads the grooves on the record, should be of high quality and match the turntable's capabilities.

Platter & Mat

The platter is the rotating component where the record sits, and it should have sufficient mass for stability and smooth rotation. A heavier platter can reduce speed variations caused by external vibrations. A good turntable may also have a suitable mat or interface between the record and the platter to dampen resonance and reduce static.

Isolation & Vibration control

Minimizing external vibrations and resonance is vital for accurate sound reproduction. Good turntables often incorporate isolation techniques such as shock-absorbing feet or suspension systems to reduce the impact of external vibrations and isolate the sensitive components.

Upgradability

A good turntable can offer room for future upgrades or customization. This includes the ability to upgrade the cartridge, tonearm, or even the platter, allowing users to enhance their system's performance as their budget or preferences change.
